Peptoclostridium species

Peptoclostridium species refers to a group of bacteria that can live in the intestinal tract. These bacteria are involved in the breakdown of proteins and other nutrients by gut microbes. This process is called fermentation and can be a normal part of digestion. When the balance shifts, higher levels of Peptoclostridium species may be associated with gas, stronger stool odour, changes in stool quality, or signs of digestive irritation.
